The Premier League’s independent commission has rejected the appeal from Nottingham Forest over the four-point penalty landed on the English club.

The commission had taken decisive action in March, docking the club four points after they admitted to breaching Profit and Sustainability Regulations (PSR) by overspending £34.5 million over three years.

Despite lodging an appeal in April, the regulatory body turned it down on May 4th, denying the club a point increment on the table.

However, the rejection has not caused significant damage to Forest, as they have secured their top-flight status following their recent win over Sheffield United. They remain 17th in the table, three points clear of Luton Town and the relegation zone, with two matches remaining.
