A few hours after his dismissal was announced, Xavi Hernandez said he’d like to manage Barcelona once again, as he has no hard feelings towards the club.

Barely a month after Xavi rescinded his decision to leave at the end of the season, the club decided to dismiss him, having convinced the 44-year-old to go back on his decision.

Despite the nature of this dismissal, Xavi said, “Barcelona is the club of my life. I have enjoyed this experience — and also suffered, of course. But I love being at this club and working for it.

“Yes, I would like a return, why not?”

The 44-year-old continued, “I am fine. It’s been tough last week, but I have my conscience very clear. I’m proud and happy,” he said.

“When we got here we knew it was a difficult time for the club and I think we can be proud of the work we have done.”

Xavi will be at the dugout when Barça take on Sevilla for their final match of the season on Sunday, May 26. The club is set to appoint Hansi Flick as the Spaniard’s successor.
