Tottenham has confirmed £65m club-record acquisition of Dominic Solanke from Bournemouth for an estimated £65 million ($83 million). Spurs have formally acquired the Cherries forward after being linked to a move for him for a while.

Solanke might make his club debut later this month against Leicester City, according to the club, who signed him to a contract that would last until 2030. Their most costly acquisition before this agreement was Tanguy Ndombele’s £55.5 million move from Lyon in 2019, but Solanke’s arrival surpasses that.

This is also Bournemouth’s most expensive sale, topping the £41m ($52m) transfer of Nathan Ake to Manchester City in 2020. Spurs will “never” replace Harry Kane, according to manager Ange Postecoglou, but they will be hoping that Solanke can be just as effective as Kane.

The 26-year-old, a former England international, have scored  21 goals and four assists for  Bournemouth in the previous season. The forward had trouble making an impression at Chelsea when he first started his career there. Although his 2017 transfer to Liverpool wasn’t very successful, he was able to start again at the Cherries.

In the opening match of the present Premier League season on August 19, Solanke, who also had a loan spell at Vitesse in the Eredivisie in 2015–16, may make his Tottenham debut away at the recently promoted Leicester City in the new premier league season on August 19th.
