England’s manager, Lee Carsley, has named his squad to play Ireland and Finland in the UEFA Nations League this September.
Carsley picked a 26-man squad for their trip to Dublin on September 7 before playing Finland three days after.
Carsley was named the interim manager of the Three Lions following the resignation of Gareth Southgate.
Gareth Southgate left his role as Three Lions’ manager after the 2-1 loss to Spain at Euro 2024 final.
Carsley will play his first game as England caretaker as they face Ireland and Finland.
The interim manager has called familiar names into the squad, while also recalling Manchester City’s Jack Grealish and Rico Lewis. The duo were dropped from the provisional squad for the Euro 2024 campaign.
Chelsea’s Levi Colwill who was dropped from the provisional squad and Manchester United’s Harry Maguire, who missed Euro due to injury were also called up.
Newcastle United’s Tino Livramento, Lille’s Angel Gomes, Nottingham Forest’s Morgan Gibbs-White and Chelsea’s Noni Madueke, received their first call-up.
However, from the squad that went to the Euros, he dropped Kyle Walker, Aaron Ramsdale, Ivan Toney and Adam Wharton; Luke Shaw and Jude Bellingham due to injuries. Kieran Trippier retired earlier on Thursday.
Other notable absentees, who also missed Euros includes Raheem Sterling, Ben White, Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho.
