Lonnie Walker IV has signed a one-year deal with the Boston Celtics to add depth to their roster. The contract includes an Exhibit 10 clause, which means Walker will join the team for training camp but could be waived. If he joins their G-League affiliate in Maine, he’s owed a bonus, and the contract could also be converted to a two-way deal. Walker is known for his strong three-point shot and defense, which could be a great addition to the Celtics’ roster.

Walker has played for the San Antonio Spurs, Los Angeles Lakers and Brooklyn Nets, averaging 9.7 points and 2.2 rebounds per game last season. His ability to shoot from beyond the arc and create his own shot off the dribble makes him a valuable asset off the bench.

The Celtics have a stacked rotation, so it’s hard to see where Walker could fit in for regular rotational minutes. The team will deploy him when needed in a pinch, but he likely won’t have a consistent role on the squad, especially when everyone is healthy.
