Rafael Leao came off the bench to earn AC Milan a 2-2 draw with Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico.
AC Milan opened the scoring through Strahinja Pavlovic’s eighth-minute goal, an header from Christian Pulisic’s corner.
Lazio hit back in the second half as Valentin Castellanos and Boulaye Dia scored in quick succession. Dia laid a pass into Nuno Tavares whose squared pass was met by Valentin Castellanos to volley home the equaliser.
Another pass from Tavares provided Dia a simple tap-in to put Lazio ahead which led to Fonseca turning to his bench.
Leao, who was dropped alongside Theo Hernandez by Paulo Fonseca, came on and brightened the game.
The Portuguese scored the equaliser two minutes after coming on as the game sprung back to life.
Another substitute, Tammy Abraham had a late chance to grab a win for the visitors but his effort was saved. However, Milan could not find the winner and settled for a draw at home.
Paulo Fonseca’s side are still without a Serie A win this season, earning two points from three games. They played a draw with Torino on opener, lost to Parma next before playing another draw with Lazio.
Milan are 14th in the standings with two points from three games, with Lazio in eight place on four points.
