Manchester United’s manager, Ruben Amorim, has stated that he will have private talks with Alejandro Garnacho after the team’s 3-2 victory over Ipswich Town.
Garnacho’s attitude on the pitch has raised concerns about his future with the club. During the match, a new player, Patrick Dorgu, received a red card just before halftime. This decision led Amorim to substitute Garnacho for Noussair Mazraoui.
Following halftime, Garnacho did not return to the bench and instead stayed in the dressing room. Reports indicate that Amorim addressed this behavior directly with Garnacho. He emphasized the importance of working hard and proving that he deserves a spot in the starting lineup for the remainder of the season.
Amorim has already faced challenges with player attitudes, especially concerning Marcus Rashford. He is determined to prevent any similar issues that could disrupt team harmony. By holding discussions with Garnacho, Amorim aims to reinforce the expectations for all players on the squad.
Speaking to the media, Amorim said about Garnacho: “You are making a connection with [Marcus] Rashford, right? I know, I know.
“What I’m saying is I’m going to talk obviously with Garnacho about that [going down the tunnel]. So I will talk about that if you want in the next press conference.”
On the other hand, Garnacho has since posted on Instagram: “Important three points! Team Manchester United!”
The outcome of these talks and whether Garnacho will face any consequences for his actions during the Ipswich game is still uncertain. Amorim is focused on resolving this situation promptly to maintain a positive atmosphere in the dressing room.
