Gavi & Lamine Yamal fire Barcelona into Supercopa de Espana final, as the Catalans won 2-0 against Athletic Bilbao.
Hansi Flick’s side took a comfortable win over the Athletic Club at King Abdullah Sports City in Riyadh, though Bilbao saw two late goals ruled out for offside.
The Catalans took the lead in the 17th minute following a lovely team move. Pedri released Alejandro Balde down the left, with the latter delivering a cross for Gavi to tuck home.
Hansi Flick’s side then sealed the victory in the 52th minute, with Gavi turning provider. The Spaniard sent a lofted pass, which was brilliantly controlled and fired in by Yamal.
Bilbao thought to have reduced the deficit when Oscar de Marcos scored in the 82nd minute. However, they were denied by the offside flag.
Four minutes later, Inaki Williams was also denied following a VAR review.
Barcelona have now advanced to Sunday’s final, awaiting the winner between Real Madrid and Mallorca.
