Barcelona secured a big win in the league, thrashing Mallorca 5-1 away from home, as Lamine Yamal shines on his return.

The Catalans started the show brightly but it was the hosts that scored first, only to be denied by offside call.

In the seventh minute, Mallorca’s Antonio Sanchez scored found the back of the net, but from an offside position. The goal was then chalked off.

However, Barcelona opened the scoring as Ferran Torres capitalised on a defensive error to score for the visitors.

Goalkeeper Leo Román rushed off his line but didn’t communicate with his defensive teammates. A rushed clearance then deflected towards Torres, who made no mistake in slamming home.

The Spanish international squandered several chances afterward, and nearly cost the team as Mallorca equalised. Just before halftime, Veday Muriqi equalized with a well-timed run, beating Barca’s offside trap.

Hansi Flick’s boys then retook the lead as Yamal was brought down in the box, and the referee awarded a penalty. Raphinha then stepped up and converted the spot kick, making the scoreline 2-1.

Yamal once again got involved as Barca extended the lead. The Golden Boy winner delivered a brilliant trivela cross to assist Raphinha’s second goal.

A few minutes later, Frenkie de Jong made it 4-1 as his first touch in the game sent in Yamal’s deflected cross into the net.

Barcelona completed the rout the de Jong turned provider, assisting Pau Victor to score the fifth goal, sealing the victory.

Although Barcelona had lost their last three LaLiga games, they bounced back with the thumping win over Mallorca.

Barcelona are now four-point lead over second-place Real Madrid.
