Barcelona suffered a 1-0 loss to Leganes, at home, as they have seen their La Liga title lead cut to zero.

The Catalans crashed to an early goal from the visitors, while they failed to get back on track, despite the dominance.

Sergio Gonzalez’s fourth minute header gave Leganes the surprise early lead and victory against the league leaders.

Barcelona, who were without head coach, Hansi Flick, tried to fight back, as they threw everything at Leganes.

However, they were very unlucky, as Robert Lewandowski was denied multiple times, and captain Raphinha hitting the bar before the break.

The hosts also had two penalty appeals turned down in the second half as they later fell to the disappointing loss.

La Blaugrana have now lost successive home league games and end the weekend on top of the table only by goal difference ahead of Atletico Madrid.

Without the suspended Hansi Flick, who started his two game touchline ban, Barca will face a huge clash with Atletico on December 21.

The game is expected to decide who starts 2025 as league leaders as the season hits the half way point of 2024.

Barcelona are currently on 38 points, same with Atletico, but ahead by 10 goals difference. Meanwhile, Real Madrid are next with 37 points and both Madrid teams have a game at hand.
