Barcelona smashed five past Real Madrid as the Catalans defeated Los Blancos 5-2 to win the Spanish Super Cup.

The victory came in dominant style, with Barca dominating the game, as Raphinha and Lamine Yamal shined.

Madrid scored first with a brilliant early strike from Kylian Mbappe, after been assisted by Vinicius Jr.

However, Hansi Flick’s side took control back, responding with four goals in the first half.

The Catalans equalised in the 22nd minute, after Robert Lewandowski sent a flick pass to Yamal, who brilliantly shot past Thibaut Courtois.

Lewandowski made it 2-1 in the 36th minute from the penalty spot, after Camavinga’s boot went high on Gavi in the box. After VAR intervention, the referee gave away a penalty, which the Polish scored.

Four minutes after, Raphinha took the game away from Los Blancos with a fine header. The Brazilian met Jules Kounde’s pinpoint cross to make it three before Alejandro Balde made it 4-1 in added time.

Raphinha netted his second of the game less than three minutes after the restart as massacre continued.

Barcelona goalkeeper, Wojciech Szczesny, was sent off for a foul on Mbappe, and Rodrygo Goes scored from the resulting free kick.

However, the defending champions could not stage a comeback against a dominating Barcelona.

The Catalans head back to Spain with a first title for Hansi Flick, and first in two seasons.
