Barcelona have started the season brilliantly, with impressive start to life under Hansi Flick.

The Catalans does not look what they are as the season was about to begin, having finished last season trophyless.

However, Flick has been able to turn the tables around from the start, with a much underestimated squad, featuring a 17-year-old Lamine Yamal.

However, a little rough path hit the Blaugranas, and they fell a bit to third place, halfway of the season.

Things didn’t look particularly rosy for Barcelona over the summer heading into a new season.

After a challenging final few weeks under former manager Xavi Hernandez, Barca have gone through reform in their first few months under new boss Flick.

The German started a brand new Barca, parked with La Masia prodigies, likes of Yamal, Pau Cubarsi, Marc Casado, joining the team of Pedri and Gavi.

The season started with seven league win runs, three consecutive 2-1 victories, before a 7-0 thumping of Real Valladolid.

The defeat to Monaco in the Champions League opener was Barca’s first loss. However, it was followed with three-game victory, before a surprise loss at Osasuna.

Howbeit, Barca have then earned comfortable victories over the likes of Young Boys, Sevilla, including a brutal victory over Bayern Munich and Real Madrid. These helped them established a six-point lead at the top of La Liga.

The return from November international break brought a different storyline for the Catalans.

Hansi Flick’s side went on having three double winless run in the league, reducing them to third place, behind both Madrid giants.

Best players:

Raphinha, Lamine Yamal

Raphinha has been the best performer so far this season for Barcelona. He has the highest goal contributions, including an incredible hat-trick again Bayern Munich.

A number of La Masia graduates have enjoyed wonderful starts to the campaign. However, it’s undoubtedly the Brazilian forward that has impressed the most.

Another amazing player for Barca this season is teenage sensation, Lamine Yamal.

The Catalunya born has continued on his path to superstardom with more awesome displays this season.

His linking up with Raphina am Robert Lewandowski has been exceptional.

Yamal has gone on to win the several individual awards, including the Golden Boy gong. He was also ranked in the top ten of 2024 Ballon d’Or.

Underachiever:

Dani Olmo

Dani Olmo has been tagged as an exceptional summer signing for Barcelona. However, he has not been fit enough to meet the expectations surrounding his signing.

The Euro 2024 winner arrived in the summer from RB Leipzig but has only managed six La Liga appearances.

He has faced issues as regards his registration into the league and is still on a verge of been a free agent.

After a trophy-less 2023/24 campaign, Hansi Flick’s Barca look primed to bring silverware back to Catalonia this season.
