Benzema Reveals Ronaldo’s Presence In Saudi Arabia Influenced His Move

Karim Benzema has recently spoken up about his decision to join Saudi Arabian team Al-Ittihad, acknowledging the influence of Cristiano Ronaldo’s presence in the country.

The 35-year-old striker’s move to the Middle East was officially announced on Tuesday evening, marking the end of his successful 14-year tenure with the Spanish champions.

Benzema who leaves behind an impressive legacy, expressed that his friendship with Ronaldo and the opportunity to join him in Saudi Arabia showcased the advancement of Saudi football.

“Cristiano Ronaldo is already here, he is a friend who shows that Saudi Arabia is starting to get ahead and I am here to win as I did in Europe,” Benzema said.

The Ballon d’Or winner signed a two-year contract that will see him earn a whopping sum of €200m annually.
