Newcastle United hosts Bournemouth on Saturday at 12:30 GMT at St James’ Park. The Magpies bagged their ninth consecutive victory after winning against Wolves on Wednesday.

Striker Alexander Isak is chasing his own record having now scored in eight consecutive league games, with Jamie Vardy’s 11-match scoring streak the current standard.

After a frail beginning to the campaign, the Magpies are now firmly in the frame for Champions League qualification having risen to fourth in the standings. They sit above Chelsea and Manchester City in the table following their reinvigoration.

Bournemouth will be challenging Newscastle in less than an hour. Unbeaten in their last ten matches in all competitions, they know victory at St James’ Park will move them within a single point of their Tyneside opponents as Andoni Iraola continues to mastermind the Cherries’ ascent despite relentless injuries.

Newcastle is presently in fourth place in the standings, above Chelsea and Manchester City. Bournemouth is also enjoying an impressive run, unbeaten in ten matches in all competitions.

Newcastle will hope to see Fabian Schar return from illness this weekend. Other absent players include Jamaal Lascelles, Nick Pope, Harvey Barnes, and Callum Wilson.

Newcastle’s predicted lineup

Martin Dubravka; Livramento, Botman, Schar, Hall; Guimaraes, Tonali, Joelinton; Murphy, Isak, Gordon.

Bournemouth is facing an injury crisis with multiple players out, including James Hill, Julian Araujo, Adam Smith, Marcos Senesi, and more. However, Marcus Tavernier and Luis Sinisterra are also not playing.

Bournemouth’s predicted lineup

Kepa; Cook, Zabarnyi, Huijsen, Kerkez; Christie, Adams; Brooks, Kluivert, Semenyo; Ouatarra.
