Juventus midfielder Paul Labile Pogba has tested positive for testosterone doping today, in counter-analysis on a second sample, and is now at risk of facing a four-year ban from football.

Recall that the midfielder was provisionally suspended on September 13, following the revelation that he elevated his hormone levels after Juventus’ Serie A opener against Udinese on August 20.

“Juventus Football Club announces that today, September 11, 2023, the footballer Paul Labile Pogba received a precautionary suspension order from the National Anti-Doping Tribunal following the results of tests carried out on August 20, 2023,” his club stated last month.

With the counter-analysis result producing a positive intake of testosterone, the former Manchester United star could be banned for four years, the maximum suspension applicable in this case.

This further puts Pogba’s career and future at Juventus at risk of an end, although the Seria A hasn’t released any statement on this development.
