Brighton has reportedly given an ultimatum to a Croatian football team regarding their club badge. According to a report from Epodravina, the Premier League club has asked Jadran-Galeb, a team in Croatia’s third tier, to change their emblem. The two badges are very similar, mainly differing in text.
The report mentions that Jadran-Galeb has agreed to Brighton’s request. They will change their badge to avoid any legal issues. Additionally, the County Football Association had to remove Jadran-Galeb’s logo from its official materials as a precaution. Now, the team is tasked with creating a new crest design.
It is interesting to note that Brighton has used their logo since 1977, while Jadran-Galeb was only formed in 2001. During the 1974-75 season, Brighton was known as The Dolphins, but they later adopted the Seagulls as their nickname.
As the Jadran-Galeb team works on their new logo, Brighton will focus on their upcoming match against their rivals, Crystal Palace, at the Amex Stadium this Sunday.
