Cameroon coach Rigobert Song affirms his side’s readiness for Nigeria

Ahead of the West African super clash between Cameroon and Nigeria in the round of 16 games of the ongoing AFCON 2023, the Indomitable Lions’ coach Rigobert Song, has affirmed his side’s readiness for the Super Eagles.

Cameroon qualified as Group C runner-up, courtesy of a dramatic late 3-2 win over Gambia to secure a knockout stage clash with Nigeria who also qualified as second in Group A.

“We are no longer in danger. We are well prepared. The match against Nigeria is a risky match. I have reached a point where I no longer calculate anything. We must correct what needs to be corrected. We must do everything possible to win the match against Nigeria,” Song said during his media round earlier today.

He added: “We have to take the Nigeria team seriously. And when we meet a serious team, we are serious too. You have to win to continue in the competition.”

Come Saturday by 9 pm, both West African football powerhouse will have a go at each other at the 35 000 capacity Stade Félix Houphouët-Boigny.
