Wendell Carter Jr. is staying with the Orlando Magic for the long haul! He just signed a three-year, $59 million contract extension, which will keep him with the team through the 2028-29 season. This deal is a maximum extension for Carter, and when combined with his existing contract, he’ll earn a total of $82 million.
Carter has been a key player for the Magic since joining the team in 2020, averaging 11 points and 6.9 rebounds in 25.6 minutes last season. He’s part of a young core that’s expected to lead the team to success, alongside stars Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner. The Contract has a length of 3 years, with a total value of $59 million and a combined value with existing contract of $82 million. The End Date of the contract is the 2028-29 season.
The Magic have been busy this offseason, re-signing backup big men Goga Bitadze and Moritz Wagner, and extending forward Jonathan Isaac’s contract. With Carter locked in, the team’s frontcourt is looking strong for the foreseeable future!
