The Cleveland Cavaliers had a great run last season, making it to the playoffs as the 4th seed in the Eastern Conference. They defeated the Orlando Magic 4-3 in the first round but lost to the Boston Celtics 4-1 in the Conference semifinals. Donovan Mitchell had an outstanding season, averaging 26.6 points, 6.1 assists, 5.1 rebounds, and 1.8 steals per game before being slowed down by injuries in the postseason.
Some notable players on the Cavaliers’ roster include Evan Mobley, Darius Garland, Dean Wade, and Sam Merril.

Despite injuries to key players, the Cavaliers received valuable contributions from Evan Mobley, Jarrett Allen, Caris LeVert, and newcomer Max Strus when they were healthy, as well as Darius Garland, who missed 25 games. Although the team achieved success and made the playoffs, they never quite reached the level of the Eastern Conference’s top teams. The Cavaliers remain committed to their core players but made a coaching change, parting ways with J.B. Bickerstaff after their playoff run ended.

The coaching community was upset when J.B. Bickerstaff was let go, given his notable achievements despite the team’s injury woes. However, as former NBA coach Jeff Van Gundy once said, if a coach’s performance isn’t criticized, their relationships with players and management might be. The Cavaliers replaced Bickerstaff with assistant coach Will Atkinson, who was highly sought after but had a tumultuous tenure with the Brooklyn Nets due to relationship issues.

Additionally, the Cavs used their lone first-round draft pick to select Tyson, a promising player who had a breakout season at Cal after transferring between three colleges in three years, bringing significant potential to the team.

The Cleveland Cavaliers had a few key players re-sign with the team, including Donovan Mitchell and Jarrett Allen Additionally, Tristan Thompson also re-signed with the Cavs, marking his return to the team that drafted him in 2011. These re-signings have brought a sense of stability to the franchise and will be crucial in their quest to stay competitive in the Eastern Conference.

The Cleaveland Cavaliers are looking pretty good for the upcoming season. With Donovan Mitchell leading the charge, they are expected to make a deep playoff run and potentially even contend for the championship.
