Manchester United are interested in Trevoh Chalobah, but they may not be able to reach Chelsea’s £25 million asking price for the centre back. Chelsea are expected to provide a bid for homegrown talent Chalobah this summer, as the 24-year-old is already in hot demand.
The Blues could attempt to trade both academy products Chalobah and England midfielder Conor Gallagher. Although both Stamford Bridge players are expected to stay in west London. United are reported to have a serious interest in Chalobah and could make a deal during the offseason.
However, the INEOS-backed Red Devils are in the midst of a complete rebuild and are said to be open to bids for the majority of their playing roster. United are believed to need to raise finances through sales before fully entering the summer market, which could delay a move for Chalobah.
Chelsea is still considering numerous rapid sales this summer to add any incoming funds to the Premier League Profit and Sustainability records for 2023/24, which have a June 30 deadline. The Blues have always stated that they will not have any difficulty maintaining inside Premier League spending limits. But they may still choose to increase their squad size before the current season’s deadline
Chelsea’s long-term interest in Napoli’s Victor Osimhen appears to have stalled at this point. The Blues are not expected to be interested in the Nigeria striker’s prohibitively expensive release clause of £113 million. Romelu Lukaku is still set to depart Chelsea permanently this summer, with the Blues reportedly willing to pay around £38 million.
