Enzo Maresca has warned Chelsea that they cannot depend on Cole Palmer to fix all their issues.
Chelsea is preparing for a challenging stretch of Premier League games, starting with Liverpool on Sunday. In this match, Maresca will be without Marc Cucurella and Wesley Fofana, who are suspended.
Following that, they will face Newcastle at home and travel to Manchester United. Arsenal will then visit Stamford Bridge, marking a tough three-week period that will test the team’s top-four hopes.
Although Chelsea currently sits fourth in the league, Maresca stressed that Palmer, who has been impressive with six goals in seven games, should not bear all the responsibility.
He praised other key players like Noni Madueke, Pedro Neto, Nicolas Jackson, Christopher Nkunku, and Enzo Fernández for their valuable contributions.
The Blues would be aiming for their first win at Anfield since 2021. While Manchester City and Arsenal are three points ahead, Maresca reiterated that Chelsea is still not ready to challenge last season’s top teams, though they continue to work hard every day. For now, the focus is on doing their best in Sunday’s game.
