Inter, Milan and Roma are noted as suitors who could take what the outlet call a “calculated” gamble on the 26-year-old Federico Chiesa.
Injuries have taken their toll on the player. He needs regular game-time in order to build up steam. Liverpool signed Federico Chiesa from Juventus over the summer, with high expectations for the Italian star. He is presently worth €30 million by Transfermarkt and his contract expires in 2028
The Italian media praised the move, calling it a fantastic signing. Chiesa, who won the Euros with Italy and stood out at Juventus, was seen as a big coup for Liverpool. However, he has struggled at Anfield, playing only once in the Premier League.
He is finding it hard to secure a place in Arne Slot’s plans. After playing just 78 minutes in total, his future at the club is uncertain. Arne Slot was asked about the player’s situation. He said that the lack of football is “frustrating” for Chiesa.
Slot explained that it is “difficult to say when he will return” and noted that the player is “in and out of training sessions.” The manager also pointed out that Chiesa missed pre-season and now has to adjust to the higher intensity of the Premier League compared to Serie A. Slot added that they “hope he can provide a significant contribution when he is fit.”
According to Calciomercato, a loan move could be the solution. Inter Milan, AC Milan, and Roma are reportedly interested in taking a “calculated” gamble on the 26-year-old. Chiesa’s injuries have taken a toll, and he needs regular game-time to regain form.
“Chiesa’s game three years ago was built on his explosiveness and willingness to fearlessly take on defenders, causing confusion and chaos with his directness and pace.” Alasdair Mackenzie adds, “His ACL injury came at an awful time for him, and the former Fiorentina star hasn’t looked the same physical force since then.”
Reportedly Slot’s recent comments don’t yet suggest that a loan is an option. For now, Liverpool just want to get Chiesa up to the physical demands required for their football.
The season is still young and like Arsenal’s Raheem Sterling. Chiesa is essentially a sixth-choice attacker right now. He may be called upon in the latter stages of the season if the Merseysiders are still fighting for trophies, especially with Premier League injuries racking up for all clubs across a congested campaign.
