Christian Eriksen done an honest review of Manchester United’s play following their humiliating 4-0 Premier League defeat to Crystal Palace. Eriksen said that United players will “take the blame” for the horrific show in south London, admitting that no one in a white shirt performed to the needed standard.

Michael Olise put Crystal Palace ahead after Casemiro made a weak challenge and the United defence split in front of the winger. Jean-Philippe Mateta extended the lead before Tyrick Mitchell made it three in the second half, and another Casemiro blunder allowed Olise to score a fourth for the jubilant hosts.

Eriksen said: “A big disappointment. We just had an off-day and we weren’t in it. It is what it is. We can’t really change the injury things. We have to do what we can on the pitch to change it. Today it didn’t matter who we played. Everyone could have done better. I don’t know what the conclusion is for how it went. We weren’t good enough. We tried to do what we could but we were not good enough. We’ll take the blame as players.”

United have now lost 13 Premier League games in a row for the first time. The previous record of 12 was set during David Moyes’ terrible 2013-14 campaign, which was later equaled in 2021-22 by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and then Ralf Rangnick.

As United try to prevent a worst-ever Premier League finish, they will face one of the most difficult tests of the season when Arsenal visit Old Trafford on May 12. The in-form Gunners are competing for the crown and will feel blood ahead of their journey to the northwest.
