Manchester City will aim to end a streak of three straight losses when they face Brighton and Hove Albion in the Premier League on Saturday.

Pep Guardiola’s team has suffered defeats against Tottenham Hotspur, Bournemouth, and Sporting CP in the Carabao Cup, Premier League, and Champions League, respectively, over the past ten days.

This series of losses – City’s first set of three in a row since 2018 has likely surprised Guardiola, who is eager to see his team bounce back with a win at The Amex on Saturday.

Meanwhile, there’s news that one of City’s players might be considering a move away from The Etihad. According to Football Insider, Goalkeeper Stefan Ortega may look to leave if Ederson, his fellow keeper, signs a new contract with the club.

Ortega, 32, is currently City’s second-choice keeper and has only made four appearances this season in the Carabao Cup and Champions League group stage. The German joined City from Arminia Bielefeld two years ago. He has around 18 months left on his current contract.

Despite his limited role, Ortega might depart if Ederson, who is linked to a potential move to the Saudi Pro League, extends his contract with City. Ederson’s current contract runs until 2026, and he has made over 340 appearances for the club.

Ortega, who has kept 19 clean sheets in 38 games across all competitions, has only played in the Premier League 12 times. Recently, he has also been linked with a possible return to the Bundesliga, with Bayer Leverkusen reportedly searching for a new keeper.
