Manchester City has signed Vitor Reis from Palmeiras. The teenage defender signed a contract that lasts four and a half years.

Reis expressed his excitement about joining such a prestigious club. He acknowledged Manchester City as one of the biggest teams globally. He mentioned that the club’s recent success and achievements made him eager to contribute to their quest for more trophies.

He also highlighted his desire to work with Pep Guardiola, stating that every young player aims to learn from him as a coach. Reis believes that Guardiola can help him grow and become the best player he can be.

He recognized that Manchester City has experience with Brazilian players and that joining players like Ederson and Savinho will support his adjustment to the team.

His signing adds to Manchester City’s busy January transfer period. They have already brought in defender Abdukodir Khusanov from Lens. Additionally, the club has reached a verbal agreement to acquire forward Omar Marmoush from Eintracht Frankfurt.

Reis has been part of the Brazilian national team up to the under-17 level. He has played in 22 matches for Palmeiras since making his first-team debut in June.

At just 19 years old, he signed his first professional contract with Palmeiras towards the end of 2022, which extended until 2025. He quickly became a regular starter in the central defense for his coach, Abel Ferreira.

Reis trained in Palmieras alongside other talented players; Forwards Endrick and Luis Guilherme, who have also moved to major clubs like Real Madrid and West Ham United. Another talented teammate, Estevao Willian, will be joining Chelsea this summer.
