Napoli’s President Aurelio De Laurentiis has apologized to the club’s fanbase for the underwhelming form of the team, a few months after winning the Scudetto.
De Laurentiis issued the heartfelt message yesterday after the Partenopei suffered another disappointing goalless draw against Monza at the Estadio Diego Armando Maradona yesterday.
The draw now means Walter Mazzarri’s side has won only one out of their last Seria A outing—losing to Inter Milan, Juventus, and AS Roma, a run that places them seventh on the log, a whooping 17 points behind table toppers: Inter Milan.

Reacting to his side’s recent woes, the Italian patron said: “It’s only my responsibility, my fault. Players or coaches are not responsible for this season, it’s on me. I’m here to apologize to Napoli fans for our season.”
The 74-year-old also revealed plans to make winter signings in a bid to salvage their dwindling season: “We will fix the situation by signing new players in January.”
