Luka Doncic on Christmas day  surprised the supporters of the Dallas Mavericks with a long 3-pointer that allowed him to surpass 10,000 points for his career. Doncic tied Hall of Famer Bob McAdoo for the seventh-fewest games to reach 10,000 points when he achieved the milestone in his 358th career game against the Phoenix Suns.

The fastest player to reach 10,000 points in 236 games is Wilt Chamberlain; he is followed in scoring order by Michael Jordan (303), Elgin Baylor (315), Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (319), Oscar Robertson (334), and George Gervin (355).

Doncic was 11 points short of 10,000 points going into the matchup. And within seven minutes, he reached the milestone with a 34-foot 3-pointer.
After LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Kobe Bryant, Carmelo Anthony, and Tracy McGrady, Doncic is the sixth-youngest player to reach 10,000 points at the age of 24 years and 300 days.

Doncic scored 50 points in the Mavs’ 128-114 victory, going 15 for 25 from the field. He now joins Wilt Chamberlain (59 in 1961), Rick Barry (50 in 1966), and Bernard King (60 in 1984) as the only NBA players to score at least 50 in a game on Christmas Day.
