Spurs starlet Jamie Donley is presently facing a tough situation at Leyton Orient. Due to league rules, the League One team has had to leave him out of the matchday squad.
Donley is highly regarded as one of the top young talents in Tottenham’s academy, standing out in the Premier League last season. However, he has struggled to make an impact at Orient, starting less than half of their league games so far and still without a goal or assist.
The 19-year-old now faces an even bigger challenge as he tries to get back into manager Richie Wellens’ plans. Donley has not made the matchday squad in Orient’s last two games against Wycombe and Rotherham.
Reports says Orient has exceeded the number of loan players allowed in their squad. Currently, they have six loan players, while EFL rules permit only five to be in the matchday lineup.
Because of this, Donley has been the unfortunate one left out. Tottenham may consider recalling him in January to loan him to another EFL club for the rest of the season.
