Borussia Dortmund delivered their best performance of the season as they cruised to a 4-0 win over SC Freiburg.
Goals from Maximilian Beier, Felix Nmecha, Julian Brandt, and Jamie Gittens gave the Black and Yellows the three points.
The win maintained their perfect record at home and they moved up to fifth place in the standings.
To add to the away side’s misery, they had two players sent off in the second-half, including former BVB youngster, Patrick Osterhage.
The game started on a bright note as Borussia Dortmund got an early goal. Maximilian Beier opened the scoring in the seventh minute after being played through by Ramy Bensebaini, following an excellent team play.
Freiburg tried to fight back but were unlucky as they looked dangerous through the rest of the first-half.
Felix Nmecha then extended the lead for the hosts in the second half as he found the bottom corner with a thumping drive.
Osterhage then received his marching order after a second yellow card, denting Freiburg’s hope of a comeback.
Julian Brandt then added to Freiburg’s misery by scoring Borussia Dortmund’s third goal with a beautifully taken free-kick.
The hosts then capped it with a fourth goal, courtesy of Jamie Gittens, in the 77th minute.
Next up for BVB is a trip to Dinamo Zagreb before Bayern Munich travel to the Westfalenstadion for Der Klassiker.
