Éder Militão renews contract with Madrid until 2028

Spanish giant Real Madrid has officially announced the contract extension of Éder Militao until 30 June 2028, a significant renewal considering his previous deal was set to expire in 2025.

According to The Athletic, Militão’s new agreement includes a huge salary increase and a €1 billion release clause.

The Sports media company also confirmed that the 26-year-old’s extension, along with those of Vinicius Junior (2027) and Rodrygo (2028), were finalized and signed in July 2022, before the club extended the contracts of Eduardo Camavinga and Federico Valverde in 2023.

Ever since joining Madrid back in 2019 from Porto for €50m, the Brazilian international has notched up 143 appearances scoring 11 goals, and winning nine trophies.

He also has 30 caps with the Seleção Canarinha and was part of the squad that won the 2019 Copa America.

Éder Militão picked up an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) rupture in his left knee in Real Madrid’s season opener against Athletic Bilbao, and isn’t expected to be back until March or April.
