Elena Rybakina have announced that she will miss China Open in Beijing.

She will miss all of the Asian swing due to an ongoing back injury.

Shortly before the US Open began, the 25-year-old, the 2022 Wimbledon winner, revealed that she and her coach Stefano Vukov had broken up. She had been struggling with ailments all season.

In spite of her impressive 41-9 (82%) record this season—which includes three titles and two more final appearances—Rybakina has frequently withdrawn from competition, citing illnesses and injuries as the reason.

“Due to an ongoing back injury, I regretfully have to withdraw from the upcoming Asian tournaments. While I’ve been working hard on my recovery, my medical team and I have decided it’s best to prioritize my health at this time,” she stated. “This has been a challenging year, and I am grateful for the support from the tournament organizers and all of my fans. My team and I will work on getting me back on the court before the season finale.”

The tennis community is curious as to what is going on with Elena Rybakina, as she keeps pulling out of competitions. She made a great first-round debut at the most recent US Open, but an ailment kept her from showing up for her second-round match.

The Kazakh player had to withdraw from a tournament—or even a match—for the sixth time this season. At the US Open, Eastbourne International, Dubai, Berlin Ladies Open, and Eastbourne International, Rybakina has already retired mid-tournament. Additionally, she was forced to withdraw just before the WTA 1000 Indian Wells and Rome Opens got underway. She has recently withdrawn from two additional WTA 1000 events, Beijing and Wuhan.
