Erik ten Hag claims “nothing has changed” in Jadon Sancho’s situation, with the winger being exiled from Manchester United’s squad.
Following the media fallout between Jadon Sancho and Erik Ten Hag, Manchester United has officially banned the winger from first-team training indefinitely. He has been a no-show at Old Trafford since openly responding to comments made by his manager following the 3-1 defeat against Arsenal on September 3.
The winger hasn’t played in a game since August 26, and that doesn’t appear to be changing anytime soon. With Sancho refusing to apologize for publicly criticizing his coach.
Ten Hag said in his press conference on friday: “I am sorry but there’s nothing that has changed and he’s not available, so he’s not part [of the squad]. So I don’t have any comment on that. As I said, if he was available, then we would report.”
As they continue to struggle for early-season form, United have plainly missed the momentum that Sancho, on his day, might give, with the winger appearing certain to leave Old Trafford either in January or next summer.
They’ve now lost five of their previous seven games in all competitions, including a shock loss to Galatasaray in the Champions League on Tuesday. Sancho will be forced to watch from home, as he will be for quite some time, as United face Brentford on Saturday.
