Joao Felix is set to leave Chelsea and join AC Milan on loan for the rest of the season. This move is happening on the final day of the winter transfer window.
Chelsea and Milan have already agreed on the terms. The deal will allow the Portuguese attacker to play with the Rossoneri for the remainder of the 2024-25 campaign.
Gianluca Di Marzio reports that the final details of the transaction are still being finalized. However, a transfer appears likely because Felix has been urging Chelsea to let him go to the Serie A team.
Felix joined Chelsea from Atletico Madrid last summer. Since then, he has only started three out of twelve Premier League matches this season. Sky Sport reports that Milan will pay about €2 million (£1.6 million) for the loan. This amount is lower than Chelsea’s initial request of €4 million (£3.3 million).
Agent Jorge Mendes was able to persuade Chelsea to lower their demands. Joao Felix is expected to travel to Italy soon to finalize the move. As a result, he will miss Chelsea’s Monday night game against West Ham.
