EPL: Five Newcastle players “likely” to miss Saturday’s game

The festive period won’t stop EPL  actions as clubs have been talking tough to take all points against their respective opponents over the weekend. 

Newcastle coach, Eddie Howe has buttressed that five players might likely not travel to Kenilworth Road against relegation-bound Luton Town.

The Magpies in their last two weeks have been eliminated from two competitions after their recent 4-2 penalty shootout defeat to Chelsea.

Firstly was the UCL where they finished fourth in the group and the recent Carabao Cup Quarterfinal to Chelsea. 

While speaking during the press conference ahead of Saturday’s game, Howe said players like Anthony Gordon, Emil Krafth, Joelinton, and Fabian Schar are all injury doubts ahead of the game with Alexander Isak in a 50-50 chance. 

Newcastle are on the verge of missing out on the top two European competitions as they are presently in the sixth position with 29 points. 

Meanwhile, the injury blow might see Luton Town who last played against the Magpies in 2018 grabbing a much-valued point to scale up the relegation zone for the first time this season.
