Frances Tiafoe has named himself as the next American man who is most likely to win a grand slam title.

In 2022, 26-year-old Frances Tiafoe, had an incredible run to the semifinals before being cruelly defeated in a five-set thriller by Carlos Alcaraz.

Tiafoe is currently one of four American guys in the world’s top 20, all vying for the top spot at Flushing Meadows.

Although Shelton and these two athletes are leading the way for American men’s tennis, Frances Tiafoe thinks a different American will surpass them to win their first major.

“I don’t even know man, it’s hard to say anyone but myself,” Tiafoe said when asked on the topic.

“Ability wise all those have the capability to do it, but let’s go Sebby [Sebastian Korda]. I like his game. He is super, super complete.”

Tiafoe appears to be set for another big run after making it to his first Masters final in Cincinnati last week, despite being defeated by fellow countryman Ben Shelton in last year’s quarterfinal. Over the last eighteen months, American tennis has seen a renaissance, which is evident at the top of the ATP rankings.

Following his first 500-level victory at Queen’s earlier this year, Tommy Paul has grown into a complete, adaptable danger.

Taylor Fritz has also been dependable, frequently competing in the later stages of competitions.

He completes a group of five Americans who are excited to get this week’s campaigns began.

Regardless of your direction at Flushing Meadows this year, triumph for America is undoubtedly in sight.
