Brentford manager Thomas Frank is being pushed forward for a national team job, with a panel of experts all choosing and trusting in him.

Today, Jyllands Posten discusses how experts concur that the Brentford manager need to take over as Denmark’s next manager. The nation is presently searching for a new manager. Exactly since Kasper Hjulmand resigned after a poor show at the European Championship.

According to a ruling, the manager “must focus on the game on the pitch” and be Danish. Frank is far ahead of the others in both categories.

Peter Grauland said: “I prefer Thomas Frank. He knows the game inside and out. It is a big filter that a new coach has to go through in order to be accepted by the players, the audience and the press. Thomas Frank gets through that filter easily.

“The expectations for the Danish national team are probably greater than in Brentford. But he has coped with the great challenges he has faced in a small club in a big league. Everyone has great respect for his work.”

Frank’s resume has grown significantly throughout his time in England. Right from the point he took over as Brentford’s manager in October 2018.

Since then, he has firmly established them in the top division. He has guided them to the Premier League, and continued the club’s tradition of producing players.

Peter Grauland feels that the fact that he has gotten a lot of recognition for his efforts may have an impact on things. Especially in terms of the money at stake.

“The question is whether it is now for Thomas Frank,” he added.

“The economy probably plays a role, because the salaries are much higher in the clubs. And the job as a national coach is of a different nature compared to being a club coach.

“Then it is every day, while you as a national coach have to perform in a few hectic periods. It’s about ambition, and it might be silly to say that it’s less ambitious to work as a national coach than as a club coach abroad.”
