Following the expiration of his contract at Crystal Palace, Galatasaray has signed Wilfred Zaha as a free agent on a 3-year deal.
The Ivorian international had been the subject of interest and enquiries from clubs in Saudi Arabia, Paris Saint-Germain, Napoli, Lazio, and Galatasaray’s Fenerbahçe, but opted to sign for the Turkey giants.
Speaking on his move from Selhurst Park to Turkey, Zaha said: “It was a wonderful welcome. Many of our fans were there. This is how I saw how big a club Galatasaray is. I will have the opportunity to play in the Champions League for the first time.
“I will give my contribution when I can and make an effort to move forward. To be honest, I talked to many of my friends before I came, like Drogba, van Aanholt. Drogba told me to come here and see. I’ve stepped in here too. When I wear the jersey, I will give my 100 percent. We want to win the championship for our fans this season.”
Throughout his 9-year spell at Palace, Zaha notched up 72 goals in 315 games for the London club, whilst making sure they stayed in the Premier League throughout.
According to sources, the 30-year-old rejected a contract renewal offer from Palace where he also began his career and played the majority of his career barring brief spells at Cardiff and Manchester United.
