Griezmann won the 2018 World Cup as France beat Croatia in the final. He also won the 2021 UEFA Nations League title.
The 33-year-old announced his decision via Instagram. He said in a video, “It is with a heart full of memories that I close this chapter of my life. Thank you for this magnificent tricolour adventure, and see you soon.”
“After 10 incredible years marked by challenges, successes and unforgettable moments, it is time for me to turn a page and make way for a new generation. Wearing this jersey was an honour and a privilege,” Greizmann added.
The former Real Sociedad man retires as joint-3rd most capped France player. He shares the spot with Oliver Giroud, behind Hugo Lloris (145) and Lilian Thuram (142).
Also, only Oliver Giroud (57), Thierry Henry (51) and Kylian Mbappe (48), has scored more international goal than Greizmann.
He has played for France in the U-19, U-20 and U-21 levels. He then made his senior France debut on March 5, 2014, in a friendly match against Netherlands.
Antoine Griezmann won the 2016 French Player of the Year and Golden Boot at Euro 2016. He also won the 2018 FIFA World Cup Bronze Ball and Silver Boot.
He last played for the French national team in the 2-0 win over Belgium in the UEFA Nations League, earlier this month.
