Guard Dyson Daniels of the Pelicans will be replaced by Vince Williams Jr. of the Grizzlies in the 2024 Panini Rising Stars.

On Team Tamika of the 2024 Panini Rising Stars, guard Dyson Daniels of the New Orleans Pelicans will be replaced by Vince Williams Jr. of the Memphis Grizzlies due to an injury. On Friday, February 16 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, the annual NBA All-Star showcase of outstanding young talent will take place. It will be broadcast live in the United States at 9 p.m. ET on TNT and ESPN Radio.

For the first time, Williams will participate in Panini Rising Stars. The 6-4 Williams, an NBA player in his second year of play and the 47th overall choice in the 2022 NBA Draft, is averaging 9.3 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 2.6 assists in 26.0 minutes in 41 games this season.

Williams has averaged 16.7 points, 6.4 rebounds, 4.3 assists, 1.38 steals, and 50.3% field goal and 42.3% three-point shooting percentage in 34.6 minutes over his last 13 games. He began the season on a two-way contract before inking a multi-year deal with the Grizzlies on January 10.

The Pelicans revealed today that Daniels, a second-year NBA player, has suffered a torn lateral meniscus in his left knee. As a result, Daniels will not be taking part in Panini Rising Stars. As the honorary head coach of Team Tamika, 10-time WNBA All-Star and Indiana Fever great Tamika Catchings, voted the 6-7 Daniels into the Rising Stars player pool by NBA assistant coaches. Daniels was then chosen in the Rising Stars Draft.

Selected NBA rookies, sophomores, and G League players will compete in a four-team mini-tournament called the 2024 Panini Rising Stars, with each of the three games being played to a Final Target Score.
