Villarreal welcomes league leader, Barcelona as the home side will be hoping to build on their last home game victory over Celta Vigo.
The Yellow Submarine won Celta 4-3 win at the Ceramics Stadium and will hope to achieve the same feat against Barcelona.
Barca, who are on a 100% run in the league, are coming from their Champions League loss to Monaco.
However, the Catalans coach, Hansi Flick, has warned his side during the pre-match press conference that they still have a lot to learn.
He also appreciated the team, supporters and the whole Barcelona city for their unwavering supports.
He promised to display an outstanding performance against Villarreal, as he believes the supports would give the team much energy.
“I am very happy for the response of the fans and that is for the team. We are all happy, also in the coaching staff. The people of Barcelona give us a lot of energy. With these, we will make the team stronger”, he said.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid will host Espanyol at the Bernabeu, as they hope to catch up with Barcelona.
Having won three games and drew two, with star signing, Kylian Mbappe, enduring an underwhelming start in the league, Carlo Ancelotti’s side will need to fight hard to defend their title.
Head Coach Ancelotti, in the press conference ahead of the Espanyol game, he urged his side to be more consistent, while also pointing the attack as a major issue.
“The last problem we have is scoring. We need to be more consistent. Sometimes we get a little off track.
He also backed Mbappe to regain his goalscoring form, claiming the team are not putting pressure on the Frenchman.
“Although, it is important for him to score, we have not put pressure on him”, Ancelotti said.
Real Madrid will need to improve in order to meet up with Barcelona and reclaim the title. They were lucky to claim a late win against Stuttgart in the opener of the Champions League.
The Spanish champions will also need to be more consistent and clinical on the attack, as they welcome Espanyol.
