Kai Havertz and Bukayo Saka were on the score sheet as Arsenal started the new Premier League season with a 2-0 victory over Wolves at Emirates Stadium.
Germany international Havertz scored the Gunners first goal of the season in the first half thanks to a fine assist from Saka.
Saka himself got on the score sheet later in the second half as he fired past Jose Sa to seal the win for the North London’s.
Havertz and Thomas Partey came close to increase the scoreline for the hosts after the break but could not find the back of the net.
Arsenal’s goalkeeper, David Raya, was instrumental as he made a brilliant save to deny Jorgen Strand Larsen a debut goal in the first half.
He was also calm to deny Matheus Cunha later in the second half to keep the game in Arsenal’s favour.
Raya will be hoping to replicate his last season’s form and get more clean sheets to claim the golden glove award the second time.
Arsenal would be hoping to keep the winning momentum up as they look to finish better than their last term second-place finish.
Mikel Arteta’s team were agonisingly pipped to the title by Manchester City last season after slipping towards the end of the season.
They would need to be alert and focus, taking all games as a title deciding one to have their hands on the title.
Arsenal continues their campaign as they travel to Villa Park for their second game of the season.
