Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe is currently recovering in hospital after being diagnosed with pneumonia. This made him miss crucial Premier League fixtures.
The 47-year-old was admitted to hospital on Friday, having felt unwell for several days, leading to his absence during Newcastle’s impressive 4-1 victory over Manchester United.
The club has confirmed that Howe will also be absent for the upcoming home match against Crystal Palace and the away game against Aston Villa. In his absence, assistant managers Jason Tindall and Graeme Jones will take charge of the team, continuing the preparations and matchday management.
Despite his condition, Howe has remained in contact with the team, watching their victory over Manchester United from his hospital bed and sending messages of congratulations.
He has also expressed immense gratitude for the outpouring of support from the Newcastle United community and the wider football world, as well as praising the “incredible NHS and the hospital staff” treating him.
Newcastle United has released official statements conveying their best wishes and support to Howe and his family during his recovery. The club will provide further updates on his condition in due course. The team and fans alike are wishing Eddie Howe a swift and full recovery, hoping to see him back on the sidelines as soon as possible.
