I owe my players for delivering, Inzaghi reacts to slim win over Bologna 

Inter Milan’s manager Simone Inzaghi has expressed his gratitude towards the Inter squad following their crucial victory against Bologna, where the decisive goal stemmed from the collaboration of the team’s central defenders.

The Nerazzurri preserved their commanding 15-point advantage atop the Serie A standings with a narrow 1-0 triumph at the Stadio Dall’Ara, courtesy of Yann Bisseck’s well-timed diving header, off an Alessandro Bastoni delivery in the 37th minute.

“We are very happy because we honoured the birthday of Inter with a very important victory,” Inzaghi told DAZN.

“We maintain the gap from those who are following us, we fully deserved the lead in the first half, and then Bologna proved why they are in their current position. We started to feel some fatigue and thoughts wandered over to the games that we have coming up.”

As a gesture of appreciation, Inzaghi acknowledges a debt of gratitude to his players and vows to treat them to a series of dinners, regardless of time constriction.

Inzaghi’s words, “We must find the time because these lads have been giving me joy, trophies and victories for so long, I owe them more than one dinner. It’s not easy to find a day when we can all go out together, but we’ll find the time.

“It’s normal to see goals from wing-back to wing-back, but to see a centre-back assist a centre-back is very satisfying for me and my staff. The lads are doing something extraordinary, but we know there are another 10 rounds to go.”

Next up for Simeon Inzaghi and Inter Milan is the second leg of their UEFA Champions League (UCL) against Atlético Madrid at the Wanda Metropolitano on Wednesday, after securing a 1-0 victory in the first leg.
