Inter Milan were held to a 2-2 draw by Bologna, as Simone Inzaghi’s side’s ended their six-game winning run.

The defending champions fell behind first as Bologna started the game brightly.

Coming close at the start of the game, the visitors forced Yann Sommer into a brilliant save to deny Nikola Moro.

However, Bologna got the price for their bright start as they opened the scoring in the 15th minute.

Santiago Castro gave the visitors the lead after his deflected shot went into the net from close range.

Inter however responded four minutes after. Denzel Dumfries reacted fast to pounce home the rebound, after Lukasz Skorupski had kept out Federico Dimarco’s powerful strike.

The Seria A winner then took the lead courtesy of Lautaro Martinez’s strike in first-half stoppage time. The Argentine fired a superb shot into the roof of the net to make it 2-1.

Once again, Bologna stunned Inter as they got an equaliser. Emil Holm scored in the 64th minute, with his low strike taking a deflection off Nicolo Barella into the net.

Inter pushed for a winner, but were unable to break the deadlock.

Inzaghi’s side remains second in the standings on 44 points, trailing leaders Napoli by three points, with a game in hand. Meanwhile, Bologna are eighth on the table, with 30 points.
