Alexander Isak, who is linked to Arsenal, is now negotiating a new contract with Newcastle United, though the player demands a release clause. His contract with Newcastle United is currently being worked on, although an agreement has not yet been reached.

Bailey says the talks are moving in the right direction, but Isak demands a release provision like to the one included in Bruno Guimaraes’s player contract. He suggests that negotiations are heading in the right direction, but Isak wants a release clause similar to the one in Bruno Guimaraes’ contract with the club.

Fabrizio Romano stated at the beginning of the summer that Arsenal valued Isak, even if a move always seemed unlikely during that window. John Cross continued by saying that Arsenal had previously kept an eye on Isak. He adds that a summer transfer was unlikely since the Gunners were not open to paying Newcastle’s rumored £120 million asking price.

Five months after the first rumors of Arsenal’s interest in Isak surfaced in April, it was revealed that Newcastle intended to extend a bid to the player. The striker’s current contract with the team expires in 2028, but before then, there was a condition in it that said his salary would drop by up to 20% should Newcastle fail to qualify for the Champions League.

Now that Newcastle failed to make the playoffs, Isak’s pay has decreased. The team is hoping to win him over with a wage increase, but it appears he also wants a release clause. Depending on the clause’s value, that may provide Arsenal with a gleam of hope.
