Juventus sealed a 2-0 victory over Hellas Verona, moving them into fourth position in Seria A.

The Old Ladies won the game, courtesy of goals from Kephrem Thuram and Teun Koopmeiner’s second half goals.

Thiago Motta’s side started the game brightly and thought to have gone ahead in the 37th minute. Weston McKennie nodded in from close range, but the USA international’s goal was ruled out for a prior foul on the Verona goalkeeper.

Verona’s goalkeeper, Lorenzo Montipo was proving to be a thorn in the Juve side as he made multiple saves late on in the opening 45 minutes.

Montipo denied McKennie’s attempt again, before thwarting Kenan Yıldız and Manuel Locatelli efforts in the first interval.

The waves changed position as Verona stunned the Allianz Stadium via Tomas Suslov’s in first-half injury time. The midfielder rifled a goal of the season contender into the top corner from distance.

However, his jubilant moment came crashing down, with the goal ruled out for a narrow offside in the build-up.

The hosts began the second half in the same relentless attacking manner as they were in search of the opener. However, Montipo remained a wall in the Verona goal, as he made a brilliant stop to deny Randal Kolo Muani.

Juventus kept on pilling pressure on Verona and finally broke the visitors’ resolve in the 72nd minute.

Thuram found a way past the impressive Montipo with a first-time finish from Andrea Cambiaso’s pass.

Koopmeiner then sealed the win late on as he drilled home from a tight angle in the final minute of regular time.

Juve are now fourth on the log, six points behind Serie A leaders Inter, and two above fifth-place Lazio.

Meanwhile, the Bianconeris have also kept 14 clean sheets in the Seria A this season, more than any other team in Europe’s top five leagues.
