Tuesday night, the New York Knicks defeated the Philadelphia 76ers 106-79. Josh Hart recorded his fourth triple-double of the season with 20 points, 19 rebounds, and 10 assists. OG Anunoby scored 14 points in his 18-game comeback.

The Knicks, who at last got one of their injured starters back, looked nothing like the team that was held to an NBA season-low 73 points in a defeat to the 76ers on Sunday. Jalen Brunson added 20 points and nine assists.

Anunoby had to have surgery for a right elbow ailment that has kept him from playing since January 27. Due to injury, New York is still playing without All-Stars Julius Randle and Mitchell Robinson, but for the first time since the 2000–01 season, it has kept its opponent’s point total below 80 points in three consecutive games.

Anunoby joined the Knicks on December 30th, having been acquired from Toronto, and the team has since improved to 13-2 in his games played.

When he was introduced with the starting lineup, the Madison Square Garden audience gave him a standing ovation. Later in the third quarter, Anunoby’s explosive dunk after snatching the ball from Buddy Hield elicited even greater applause.

Tyrese Maxey finished with 17 points despite missing the previous four games due to a concussion, while Kelly Oubre Jr. scored 19.

In a game that featured the lowest aggregate score in the NBA this season, the 76ers defeated the Knicks 79-73 on Sunday.

After shooting 32.5% from the field and 22.5% from 3-point range the previous time, the Knicks hit 50.6% from the field and 35% from long range.

Philadelphia’s offensive woes persisted as they were still missing NBA scoring leader Joel Embiid. The 76ers made 37.5% of their field goals and 24.2% of their three-pointers. The 76ers made 38.8% of their field goals and 30% of their long-range attempts on Sunday.

With 10:21 left in the first quarter and the 76ers behind 6-0, Philadelphia coach Nick Nurse took his first timeout because he was not happy with his team’s effort in the opening minutes of the game.

The Sixers went on a 9-2 run and made it 61-51 on a 3-pointer by Maxey, forcing the Knicks to call a timeout with 8:33 remaining in the third quarter after New York had taken an 18-point lead at the beginning of the quarter.

With 4:34 left in the game, Donte DiVincenzo’s 3-pointer gave the Knicks a 15-2 run that extended their lead to 79-53.

Philadelphia only made one of its six shots and turned the ball over twice in that sequence.
