Late Napoli equaliser denies Inter Milan 11th consecutive Serie A win

Napoli continued their recent doggedness in the Serie A by securing a late draw against the league leaders Inter Milan at the San Siro on Sunday.

Despite the UEFA Champions League (UCL) heartbreak to both teams last week, they started this encounter quite on the brighter side.

Inter dominated possession in the first half, with Napoli defender Juan Jesus impressing with crucial tackles to deny Marcus Thuram and Lautaro Martínez scoring opportunities.

Inter’s Matteo Matteo Darmian, however, broke the deadlock just before halftime, converting a cross from Alessandro Bastoni.

Despite Inter’s dominance, Napoli’s defence held firm, with goalkeeper Alex Meret making key saves to prevent the Nerazzurri from doubling their lead.

Napoli’s resilience didn’t go futile, as the Partonepie eventually found an equaliser through Jesus’ header, frustrating Inter’s hopes for a late win.
