LeBron James will miss his second consecutive game due to left foot soreness. The Los Angeles Lakers announced that James won’t play in Friday night’s game against the Minnesota Timberwolves. This comes after James missed his first game of the 2024-25 season last Sunday against the Portland Trail Blazers, also due to the same foot injury.
According to Lakers head coach JJ Redick, James’ absence is partly due to the team’s extended break, allowing him to get some much-needed rest. With the Lakers failing to qualify for the NBA Cup knockout rounds, they have a relatively light schedule, which will give James time to recover.
James is averaging 23.0 points, 9.1 assists, and 8.0 rebounds per game this season, and his absence will undoubtedly be felt by the Lakers. However, the team is hopeful that this break will help James return to full strength and lead them to more victories in the future.
