Barcelona ensured all these points were secured as they secured a 1-0 victory over Alaves at the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys.
The Catalans had a very disappointing first half performance, losing Gavi in the process, after he was involved in a very nasty clash of heads with Alaves’ Tomas Conechny, who also could not continue.

The Poland international turned Lamine Yamal’s deflected volley into the back of the net from close range.
Meanwhile, Alaves goalkeeper Jesus Owono denied Barcelona a second, as Lamine Yamal’s curling effort was spectacularly tipped wide.
Both clubs pushed hard to find the back of the net, but in the end, Lewandowski’s finish proved to be the difference in Catalonia.
The result means that Barcelona have closed to within four points of Real Madrid, and three of Atletico Madrid.
The Catalans travels to take on Sevilla next at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan.
